Chemicals not recommended for use in the cosmetics industry and their harm

We expose our body to many chemicals during the day without realizing it. One of the biggest reasons for this is the cosmetic products used. The chemicals in these products, which are used for life, from shampoo to moisturizer, from sunscreen to make-up materials, do not only harm the user. These toxic substances, which can mix with water and soil, have a great impact on the environment.

triclosan
Triclosan has bacteriostatic properties and it is also stated to be antifungal and antiviral.

Arsenic
Arsenic is found in eyeliner, eye shadow, shampoo, conditioner and shower products. Arsenic toxicity inhibits enzyme activity related to cellular energy pathways, DNA replication and DNA repair, and initiates metabolic processes that cause DNA damage.

Mercury

It is stated that mercury has toxic effects on the nervous system, reproductive system, immune system and respiratory system.

Dioxin
Dioxin, which is found in polyethylene, polyethylene glycol, PEG, oxinol, polyoxyethylene, polysorbate 60 and polysorbate 80 and nonoxynol chemicals, is used in cosmetics, pharmaceutical industry, detergents and plastic containers. Therefore, it is included in the group of chemicals harmful to health in cosmetics.

Synthetic Dyes – Cosmetic Colorants
You can understand that artificial colorant is used in the cosmetic product you buy by looking at its contents. If there are FD&C and D&C statements in the content section, synthetic colorants can be mentioned. Since these synthetic colorants are obtained from petroleum and its derivatives, they have serious harm to human health and are among the chemicals that harm the skin.

Sodium Lauryl Sulphate
